What Happens If I Damage a Club Boat?
The useful answer is not “don’t worry.” It is knowing the reporting process, agreement, and support before leaving the dock.

The answer in one sentence
Freedom Boat Club of Tennessee offers every member Peace of Mind coverage options that define how damage procedures and member responsibility are handled.
- Peace of Mind options are offered
- Safety and reporting come first
- Your selected coverage controls the details
First, take care of people.
If an incident occurs, address immediate safety, follow applicable emergency procedures, and contact the dock team as soon as it is safe to do so. Staff can guide reporting and the next operational steps.
Do not minimize a strike, collision, grounding, or mechanical concern. Early reporting helps the club inspect the vessel before another reservation.
Peace of Mind coverage makes the answer concrete.
Freedom Boat Club of Tennessee offers Peace of Mind coverage options to each member. The membership conversation should explain the available options, member responsibility, reporting requirements, exclusions, and the way a selected option responds to an incident.
The chosen coverage and membership documents control the exact terms, so members should make that selection with a real scenario-based explanation, not a vague reassurance.

Training reduces uncertainty.
Required new-member orientation and continuing on-water instruction help members build judgment for docking, navigation, changing conditions, and unfamiliar vessels. Ask for more training whenever confidence is not there yet.
Good boating culture is not pretending incidents never happen. It is preparing members to prevent them and respond properly if they do.
